Relax, unwind and rejoice in our newly refurbished hotel bedrooms in the heart of Odiham
Enjoy a weekend break here at our unique B&B and hotel near Hook this summer and settle into one of our seven bedrooms, each offering modern elegance and luxury, whilst retaining a few original features of its grade-listed history.
The Red Lion is the newest sibling to the Red Mist Leisure family and already is proving to be a star! We thought it only right therefore, to shine our spotlight on individual members of our amazing team who work tirelessly to ensure you receive the Red Mist service you already know and love.
The spotlight this month is shining brightly on our Assistant Manager, Michelle Pickard, who manages the bedrooms and ensures every element of our hotel operation runs to perfection, from your fresh breakfast to your crisp clean linen. Wanting to get to know her a little better, we asked her a quick-fire round of questions on your behalf:
What is your favourite part of the new bedroom decor?
“Definitely the RAF theme, I especially like the black and white prints in the hallway. I’m from a military family myself and so feel a huge connection and sense of pride to the local RAF history and our service men and women”.
What is your favourite dish on the Summer Menu that you would choose if you were staying here with us on our Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package?
“It would have to be the Fisherman’s Board – it’s great dish to share, but quite frankly it’s too delicious and so I’d have it all for myself!”
Where would you visit locally if you were staying here with us in the hotel?
“There are so many great places to choose from including vineyards, farm shops, country parks, boutique shops just a stone’s throw from the hotel, plus we’re so close to Hook and Basingstoke, there’s really no shortage of local things to do and see.”
“If I had to choose just one, it would be the ‘Pick Your Own’ at West Green Fruits. It is such a simple, but thoroughly enjoyable activity to take part in and really reminds me of growing up as a little girl. When the sun is shining it’s just perfect, plus any age can participate and enjoy the (tasty) experience.”
What does your perfect ‘day off’ consist of?
“I would be up bright and early for dog walkies with my border terrier, Twiglet; either to the beach or the woods, as long as she gets a swim and a big run, she’s happy!”
“Then it would be off for lunch, which simply must include bacon…even if in a salad (although I’d have to balance it out with some chips or fresh bread!)… bacon is such a weakness of mine, I love it!”
“In the afternoon, I would have rugby training with the girls and then enjoy a delicious dinner, in or out, as long as it’s not me having to cook it!”
“I’d finish the day off with a trip to the pub with good friends for a few ice cold glasses of Sauvignon Blanc and put the world to right…that’s one happy day off!”
