Our weekend overnight stays are incredibly popular here at The Red Lion, but what’s been the most surprising of late, is the growth in groups booking our 7 bedrooms on an exclusive basis.
What hasn’t been surprising however is the wonderful feedback we receive, often advising how, not only had we exceeded their expectations in all aspects of their stay from the rooms to the service and the food, but how surprised they were to find such great group activities to entertain them over a weekend – especially when many of those staying are from the local area!
Plan a celebration or catch up with friends and family, and stay overnight at The Red Lion, Odiham.
So we thought we would take the opportunity to highlight a few more nuggets of useful detail to reaffirm why you really must book a night away with your closest pals here, in the heart of Odiham, at The Red Lion.
Fancy a night away from responsibilities
Catching up with your favourite people and escaping the realms of reality is so important for mental health, especially for those who have young families and are keen to plan a night away from their little ones to focus on themselves for a few hours. To re-visit what it feels like to drink without fear of early morning wake-ups, enjoy a full conversation without interruption, that isn’t on the subject of kids, and rejoice in every bite of their meal being hot, and cooked to perfection by someone else, is simply bliss in so many forms.
With a bit of planning and the help of an overnight babysitter, it needn’t be just a distant dream as we are offering this incredible opportunity for £99 per person. This price includes a three-course dinner of your choice, with no restrictions or supplements to contend with, a breakfast fit for royalty with unlimited tea/coffee, a.k.a. delicious rocket fuel to see you through the day, and the most peaceful night’s sleep you will have experienced in a long time.
Now we have your attention, we thought it only fair to spell it out for you. This offer is just £99 per person (totalling £1,386 per night) based on up to 14 adults sharing 7 rooms. Please be aware, this does not include exclusive hire of the pub and as it is a group booking, the cancellation policy is different. Please click here for full T&C’s.
Celebrating a special occasion
There’s plenty to entertain and to mark a special occasion whether you’ve got just the early evening and overnight to spare or the whole weekend. We have an abundance of award-winning and unique producers here in the local area so if you love your food and drink, why not plan a group gin tour to Bombay Sapphire, Gorilla Gin or Winchester Distillery – you can even create your very own, unique bottle of gin; or perhaps a fun beer tour with our close friends, Hogs Back Brewery. Alternatively, if wine is more your thing, why not visit Laverstoke Farm for a unique experience tasting their award-winning vintage wine and buffalo cheese or perhaps travel a few minutes further to enjoy the delicious delights of a Hattingley Valley tour. Right on our doorstep, we also have the incredibly talented team of Moutan Flowers who have launched a brand new schedule of workshops.
Something a bit different
Not content with all the wonderful opportunities already discussed, you can get the gang together, if the weather is nice, and go boating along the Basingstoke Canal (think canoes, kayas and row-boats!) or why not try an Alpaca Experience or even a Cookery Course at nearby Newlyn’s Farm.
There really is not enough time in a weekend to fit in all these fun activities! What you will definitely find time for though, by the time the sun has set and you’re dressed ready for the evening, is to enjoy gathering together in the heart of the pub for a delicious three-course meal. You can choose any three courses across our menus and daily specials, there are no limitations or supplements. Take your time and make the most of this time together as you will be able to continue chatting and drinking until 1am, long after closing, with our residential drinking license.
The following morning, having woken naturally to the sounds of a new day (and no alarm clocks or crying babies) you can enjoy a lengthy, not to be rushed, invigorating hot shower before venturing downstairs to the pub for your breakfast. The table will be set again for all 14 of you, this time filled with fresh orange juice, croissants and steaming hot coffee and tea whilst you decide what breakfast dish to order.
