Whether you plan on doing a little… or a lot

Being so close to the M3, and enjoying the unique positioning of being so close to the Hampshire, Surrey, and Berkshire borders; whether you choose to stay over as a ‘pit stop’ forming part of a larger journey, or you want to spend multiple days with us as you head off and explore the countryside, coastal paths and much more. You will have plenty to keep you entertained.

Award-winning vineyards, distilleries & breweries

We have always supported and shone a light on our local food and drink heroes who have worked passionately to create unique and, often, award-winning products. It’s therefore only right, that we give a big shout out to some of the best drink creators in the country, who are established right here in our surrounding lands.

If you’re planning for a special occasion then why not plan a full day of tasting (seasonal dates will apply), being transported around in style in the company of our dear friend, Joel, who knows everything there possibly is to know, about the drinks industry.

Alternatively, enjoy a favourite (or discover something new!). Below are just a few of the great tasting tours on offer:

Vineyards here in Hampshire are taking on the heavy competition of the Champagne region, with their incredible English sparkling wines. Hattingley Valley, Albury, Greyfriars, and Hambledon all offer tastings and tours.

For the Gin lovers, you will be blown away by the award-winning beauties that sit right on our doorstep. From Silent Pool and Gorilla to Bombay Sapphire, Winchester, and Hogmoore distilleries; you will absolutely find the masterclass or tasting that suits you.

We absolutely adore beer and ale, so if you too are a lover of the sweet golden nectar, then you really must visit some of the best breweries in the area. From Hogsback Brewery and family-owned Andwell Brewery, to Craft Brews and Surrey Hills Brewery, there’s plenty to enjoy and learn.

Activities to entertain

We love seeing families, couples, friends, and colleagues coming to stay overnight; and recommending great places for them to visit; there’s plenty to do, come rain or shine.

When the sun has got its hat on, there are plenty of great places to visit. We have theme parks aplenty, all less than 45 minutes drive – enjoy Chessington World of Adventures, Legoland, Thorpe Park, and Paulton’s Park (home to Peppa Pig Land). Not a thrill-seeker? enjoy a day of wildlife at nearby Bird World or Marwell Zoo. Pack your swimmers and sun lotion and head to the South coast beaches, or stick closer to home and enjoy the man-made Frensham Great Pond with its very own beach!

Alternatively, hire bikes at Alice Holt and explore the beauty of its woodlands (there are some great farm shops and garden centres en route, too)!

If you happen to wake up to a day of Blighty rain, it absolutely won’t spoil your stay. There’s a whole array of virtual experiences and indoor activities within 20 minutes drive, such as Flip Out or iFly Indoor Skydiving, Chimera VR, and Escape Rooms, to more calming options including a trip to the Cinema, Pottery Painting or a Spa Day or Afternoon Tea at The Four Seasons.

Plus, we are incredibly lucky to be on the doorstep of Newlyns Farm, which is an award-winning, family-run Farm Shop, Cafe, and Cookery School. If you love food, you simply must visit, even if to fill up your bags on your way home (it’s en route to the M3, so ideally located too) for a delicious lunch or evening meal.

Experiences & Workshops

If you’re celebrating something or simply looking to do something unique and fun during your stay with us, if you have the time to plan ahead, there are some wonderful experiences available to take part in.

Quite literally a stone’s throw from our abode is the gloriously elegant independent floristry, Moutan. An Aladdin’s cave of goodies and stunning floral bouquets, they also host floral workshops. Whether a seasonal wreath or learning how to create the perfect hand-tied bouquet, their tutoring is second-to-none.

Just 30 minutes down the road in the beautiful village of Alresford is Chocolate Craft; an independent and superb chocolatier. Learn the incredible craft of chocolate making in a 2.5 hour workshop and come home with your very own beautifully packaged box of handmade chocolates. A minimum of 21 chocolates per person, along with a chocolate lolly, to wow friends and family.

Just a few minutes away is Newlyn’s Cookery School, which offers incredible cookery workshops for young and old. From 2.5 hours to full-day sessions, there is something for everyone and you usually get to take home all your cooked delights.

Did you know, we also have a great relationship with Anvil Arts theatre and can offer exclusive Orchestral Performances + stay packages up to a year in advance.
